TEI was contracted by the US National Building Museum to perform various renovation tasks to replace the existing emergency generator, and upgrade the associated fire alarm and fire suppression systems. The specific task performed were:
•Removal of existing 40kw emergency generator and installation of 350kw Cummins emergency generator
•Demolition and installation of associated masonry, concrete and structural work
•Removal of existing fire alarm
•Supply and install new addressable fire alarm system as per NEC
•Removal of lead based paint
•Cutting, patching, and painting of plaster in Great Hall area to conceal fire alarm wiring.
•Fire sprinkler system upgrade in generator room.
