VA MEDICAL CENTERS
West Palm Beach and Miami, FL
TEI was hired by the US Veterans Affairs (VA) to renovate the 1,500 sq. ft. X-Ray Room at the West Palm Beach Medical Center (VAMC). TEI performed interior alterations, including tiles, walls and acoustical ceilings reconstruction, carpeting, and painting; plumbing modifications including sprinkler, sanitary, sewer and medical gases; electrical modifications including lighting, fire alarm, power distribution, telecommunications, paging, security and nurse call systems; and HVAC systems modifications. Work was performed in strict accordance with VA construction guidelines and all applicable Federal and state codes/ requirements. Construction was scheduled in phases to minimize disruption of hospital activities.
TEI was subsequently awarded six additional construction projects with the VA hospitals in West Palm Beach and Miami, FL:
ICU Renovation: 5,000 sq. ft. renovation of the ICU area that included patient beds/recovery rooms, nurse stations, and waiting/reception area.
PACS Reading Room Renovation: The 1,500 sq. ft. area included space for testing and reading of CT/PET scanning and other medical test results.
Mental Health Renovation: Modifications to architectural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems associated with the renovation of the 1,500 sq. ft. Mental Health Clinic.
MRI/CT Scan Site Prep: 1,000 sq. ft. renovation of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems associated with the installation of the new MRI/CT Scanner.
Canteen Renovation: Relocation of power to accommodate new vending machines and associated ancillary interior alterations (flooring and walls).
Domestic Water Upgrade: Total renovation of deteriorating domestic water piping for the complete facility.
